Air Strike 2

A silver delta winged jet is visible near the upper left of the aiming stake. We could feel the ground shake slightly as their bombs exploded but it was minor compared to a B-52 strike. B-52 strikes were further than a mile but shook bunkers and toppled sandbag walls. We could not hear or see them prior to an attack and they were a BIG surprise as they began; sudden as an earthquake and continuing for several minutes.

This firebase is just being built and looks very crude but is prepared  for an attack. Enemy ground assaults came in the dark, generally after midnight and seldom the first 3 days in any location.
