Using a FADAC (field artillery directional analog computer) I am preparing the necessary instructions for the battery to fire a salvo. The FADAC computer was just beginning to be used in the field, replacing the charts, sliderules and firing tables we used to compute gun settings. The FADAC was bulky, difficult to operate, temperamental and impossible to get repaired because parts and training in repairs did not exist.
