Tree Line

This picture looks at the tree line west of FSB Washington II. A flight of Huey helicopters is landing to take the infantry unit to the starting point of their daily walk .The next 10 pictures show an “eagle flight” assembling early one morning. Helicopters were the most critical machines of transportation in dangerous or isolated locations. Without them, our daily lives and fighting ability would have been very different. Brave, thrill-seeking, crazy pilots flew them. Many helicopter pictures are on this site because the sound filled our sky and gave us time to get our cameras.  Today, helicopter sounds flash me back to Vietnam.
