Saigon February 1969 1 | |||
A restaurant with sidewalk seating was a new concept but Saigon in 1969 held many first times for a man raised in Russell Kansas. The food was strange but tasty after 6 months of canned Army meals. A street band played Vietnamese music using instruments unknown to me. The music was high pitched like a scream and I could not detect a beat or rhythm. Only a few moments after checking into my hotel room a slender young woman opened my door with a price list of sexual pleasures. After a short negotiation she left to get her manager’s approval and returned in a sexy miniskirt with a “hurry up” attitude. | |||
