Huey Cobra 2

This Huey Cobra is looking over our firebase. Their load of munitions was the largest of any helicopter and they were welcome at any firefight. They could fire very close to us and their aim was accurate. They carried an automatic machine gun, a grenade launcher and had rocket pods on both sides. The pilots and weapons officer sat in a front/back formation like in a jet fighter. The Cobra was the only helicopter set up this way, resulting in a narrow profile and presented a smaller target. The enemy used 51 caliber machine guns and rocket propelled grenades (RPG) that were capable of shooting down a helicopter but they seldom succeeded.
