Resource Links

A majority of websites listed below are sub-units of the 25th Infantry Division. I am staggered by how creative and varied they are. All are well worth a visit.

The memorials to unit members that died in Vietnam are heart breaking. The loss of our humanity, suffering, injury and death is the continuing human cost of the war.

Dennis Lowdens "Wake Island 1975" is about the Vietnamese migration.

Web Sites That Help Veterans.   Sites such as VA offices, Social Security, Disease Specific Organizations and others groups that help veterans.

Military and Veterans Links   Many military Vietnam web sites are listed, linked and reviewed. The reviews identify the content of the site and are accurate: I am responsible if they are not. This is the links page at the 25th Division web site, the home page is the following link. The "Best" links list I have used

25th Infantry Division Association   A clean and well done site. You can learn and enjoy doing it.

7thbn11thfa.com   John Clarks Vietnam pictures. His guestbook attracts a steady flow of "lost A Battery soldiers."

Dennis Lowden's "Wake Island 1975"   Pictures taken of Vietnamese Refugees on Wake Island in 1975

The Might 9th Artillery  Dennis Dauphin's site covers his artillery Battalion. Creative design and unique information had my attention and kept it. The content organization is unique and I like it. "War Stories" and "Tour of Duty" were my favorite parts of this site.

A Troop, 3ed Squadron. 4th Cavalry   Assigned to the 25th Division in Vietnam, 1966-1970. This site has details in many categories of information and is well organized. You can understand the unit, A 3/4, and its history after a tour of their site.

C Troop, 3ed Squadron, 4th Cavalary   Dito my remarks on A Troop.

A Year On The Jumping Jack   Randy Kethcart's Vietnam Tour in pictures (mostly). His pictures start before he arrived in Vietnam and end after he left. Randy must have planned to capture his tour on film and carried out the mission well.

1st Bn 5th Reg 25th Div "Class of 1966"   Butch Petit's site is creative in format, and full of imformation. Stacked with information! The scope of the site is amazing.

9th Infantry Regiment   The "Manchu's   4th/9th  The design and content make it feel like an official site. You can learn in detail about 9th Infantry history. The "Sounds of Vietnam" is a must listen section. Willy created a site you must visit.

2/12 Infantry in Vietnam    Ray Cassidy built and others maintain this site. The home page says this and also it was last updated 28 Feb. 08. An interesting site, I hope it will continue to grow. It is well done.

Dau Tieng Base Camp   Bill Comeau. The site is easy to navigate and most if not all parts are linked to the home page.  It covers the units service with the 4th Division as well as the 25th. Dau Tieng was unique and a very dangerous base camp. Good job.

1/14 Infantry "Golden Dragons  Terry Bender and his mates designed a fine website. Their home page indicates they need a new web master so additions to the site may have slowed. The "Dragon Art" gallery was my favorite part of a well done web site.

2/14 Infantry "Golden Dragons"   Kirk Ramsey covers in detail, post Vietnam service, Vietnam and 2/12 history before. Massive amounts of information are well organized and simple to navigate. Not to be found elswhere information. Good Site!

22nd Infantry Vietnam Triple Duce   Mario Salizar. The locator is unique to Vietnam sites I have visited. The audio/video TV report on the Battle at FSB Gold is a must. A damn good site just as their work in Vietnam was. Visit it!

Charlie Company 2/22 66' - 67'   The "original boat people". The "Video Files" were a trip, literaly. The "Photo Gallery" has numerous individual photographers galleries. The design is clean and the site is very easy to navigate.

Charlie Company 3ed Battalion, 22nd Infantry Association   Colorfull homepage where you open a swinging door to access the site. 3/22 supplied units to the 25th Division and the 4th Division in Vietnam. Well done!

4/23 (Mechanized) Infantry "Tomahawks"   An interesting website that covers the long history of the "Tomahawks". The design seems "Official" and surfing felt like it. The work done on this site delivers. A 7/11 operated with and for them during my tour and they were tough warriors.

27th Infantry "Wolfhounds"  The "Wolfhounds" have been superior fighters throughout their history. We operated with one company for a few days and they were agressive and the superior officers worked on the ground not in a helicopter. Their site covers both the 1st and 2nd Battalions, the amount of "Stuff" they have posted is amazing. You should visit their web site.

Images of the 25th Division, Vietnam  in 1966. 48 pictures taken by his father Colonel Frank S. Farmer are the basis of the site.

75th Rangers LRRP to LRRP Sitrep  The site is well done. "Something new" and "Here is another" are very good writings and are accessed from the home page. Surf the Vietnam war with the Rangers. Brave men do Ranger work.

Dusters, Quad 50's, Searchlights, Vulcans and HAWK's   These are the boys with very big toys. The overwhelming firepower of a Duster or Quad 50 can break up any enemy formation or blow up most bunkers. The home page is long but the links lead to interesting stuff.

Combat Tracker Teams   An overwhelming amount of pictures. A site targeted to members as is the Scout Dogs site below. That said the pictures are worth the visit.

Scout Dogs   They have been sniffing our Dog Handlers starting with 6 in 1993 and now have over 2,000 members. The site is built for men that served in the unit  but has interesting history parts. I remember their unit sign in my short visits to Cu Chi.

25th Aviation Battalion - Vietnam   Helicopter pilots and door gunners must be crazy to do their jobs. I did find interesting content and recommend you visit.  I was not able to read the site links because of the blue text so I did not surf as long as I have done with other sites reviewed here.

159th Medical Detachment (Helicopter Ambulance) This "job description" is interesting. These pilots were fearless and willing to die. Their night pick-up of wounded in May 1969 at FSB Crook was amazing to see; they were risking all to save our men. I doubt a med-evac pilot can buy his own drink when other Vietnam veterans are around.

B Battery, 3/13 Artillery   Bob Offerdahl in 1969 and 1970. The unit fired 155mm howitzers, self-propelled, and this site tells their story. The "Soldier's Journal" was my favorite part of it.

2/77 Artillery   Mikie Pectol. The home page is filled with goodies that got me interested in surfing the site. My artillery mates did a fine job. The 25th Division universe is bright with creative web sites. This is one of them.

Ground Surveillence  Dave's Scrapbook. An unusual design with humor everywhere, not just the humor section. Very good. The stories are well written and a good way to read/learn about his tour and about him.

187th Assault Helicopter Company   Trial by Fire, Thomas Pienta. The best part of this site is the story "Trial by Fire". The site is easy to navigate, the pictures are good.

25th Infantry Division Shotgun Program   Door Gunner Training. A large gallery of pictures with comments on them. This site is loaded but the home page is very electric and and a darting helicopter that followed my cursor made the home page difficult for me.

65th Engineer Bn, Company E.   Bob Guersch shows pictures of their deployment to Vietnam, April 1965, and many pictures taken during his tour. Those guys had so many big fun toys to use. Mainly black and white pictures, I learned how the 25th got to Vietnam and started building.

359th Transportation Company   Complex and colorfull the design of the site is a winner. The graphics show humor and talent. They were not in Vietnam long but have an interesting story.

Battle of Kontum: Easter Offensive 1972   LTC John G. "Jack" Heslin's site is in-depth coverage of the last major military involvement of the United States in Vietnam: The Battle of Kontum. News coverage by The Stars and Stripes on this battle, stories written by soldiers involved (even Vietnamese), maps, pictures and detailed writing on the battle by LTC Heslin paint as detailed as you want picture. Started in 2002 and growing since; it is large but well organized.
